The family hands sketch is a series I began out of heartache in missing my brother who passed away unexpectedly. It wasn’t until years later when I searched back, sifting through memories of him, that I realized some details were fading. Fortunately, I have plenty of pictures to remember his face and body, but none that showed his hands exactly as I wanted to remember them. Below is a sketch I created of my parent’s hands. This how I want to remember their character; what I recall vividly in my memory of holding their hands or watching their hands at work. The ring on my mom’s hand is significant to all of her children. These sketches are a great gift to yourself, to your family members, or friends. If you have the opportunity to pose your loved one’s hands, do it! It’s these little memories that can bring comfort as the year’s pass on, so you can always remember those hands that did so much for you. ♥

What happens after you order?

If you accept the quote, I’ll send you an invoice via PayPal (or you can send me a check). PayPal will send both you and I a purchase receipt with your order details and I will email you as soon as I receive this. We’ll chat on the phone (or via email, however you feel most comfortable) about your portrait and you’ll email me a full resolution image for reference, of the example of who you’d like me to paint a portrait of. Once I have the painting finished, I’ll notify you via email with a preview example, and then I will order the print. The print is made at a professional printing lab in the mid-west. When they are done, shipping typically takes anywhere from 7-14 business days. The reason I select this lab, is because of their professionalism and because they ship very quickly.
