My name is Rebecca Emily Cooper, I’m a portrait painting artist who specializes in realism and illustration. There is nothing that makes me more happy, than to bring to life what others hold close to their heart and wished they could see and treasure forever. That may be a loved one who has passed, a brand new baby, or your family who lives all across the country/world and you wish you could have them all together in a picture. I love to paint treasured memories, this is why I love being a portrait painting artist.
I have been an artist my entire life. As far back as I could remember, I have had a pencil or paintbrush in my hand and I was illustrating books I wrote, and pictures I saw – making them my own. The eyes are my favorite feature to draw and paint. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “The eyes indicate the antiquity of the soul.” I have always felt that if I could get one thing perfect in a portrait, it has to be the eyes. For me, that single feature is the life of the portrait painting – without its spark, the painting is flat. With it, the painting is alive and touches the heart of those who view it.
As a portrait painting artist, my mission is to embrace the hearts of those who receive my work. I desire to comfort, to teach, and to inspire minds. I have been given a gift from God, and I intend to always learn and refine my talent so I can be all that God wishes me to be as His instrument.
I am eager to hear your story, and to bring to life what you hold in your heart and mind. If you find a painting of mine that touches you – please let me know. I’d love to hear from you. Prints may be purchased from my online store [see here]. If you desire to commission a portrait of your own of a loved one, family member or as a gift for someone else – I would love to do this for you. You can read more about ordering your portrait painting on the ‘prints/pricing’ page. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me anytime.
